The Commissioner of Tourism reported that as protocols, developed in conjunction with the Office of the Governor, tourism and health authorities, as well as the private sector, are rolled out, the COVID-19 state of emergency will remain in effect till July 11, 2020.

In preparation for the reopening, there are strict health and safety guidelines to adhere to, which is a collaborative work of all various departments and agencies. It will be frequently updated as global guidelines shift. The Commissioner added that to reopen requires everyone, both personally and professionally to adhere to these new protocols to reduce the spread. These protocols include procedures for operating reception and concierge facilities; cleaning and housekeeping; managing dining rooms; and providing technical and maintenance services. There are also sections on taxi, van, safari and limo services, restaurants and bars, and accommodations.
