Southeast Asia’s Top Golf Courses
Southeast Asia’s finest golf courses accessible by private jet
While Southeast Asia is primarily thought of as a stunning beach holiday destination, it’s also a golfer’s dream. Players can enjoy a range of courses in gorgeous locations, from lush mountains with cool climates to humid coastal courses with seaside views.
The location, scenery, and difficulty of the region’s courses vary greatly, and this makes it an absolute treat for passionate players of all levels.
Let’s take a look at the top golf courses in Southeast Asia and how to reach them by private jet charter.
Angkor Golf Course, Siem Reap, Cambodia
This 18-hole course, designed by former world number one Sir Nick Faldo, is the perfect addition to Cambodia’s many alluring attractions. The views from the course are quintessentially Cambodian, as it is perfectly poised amongst the rice paddy fields surrounding Siem Reap. At 7,239 yards and with a par-72 layout, it’s got generous fairways, bold bunkers, and undulating greens that make it perfect for a range of handicaps.
Getting there: It couldn’t be easier to get to Angkor Golf Course by international private jet charter. Situated just a five-minute drive from Siem Reap International Airport, and 10 minutes from the city centre and the famous Angkor temples, the course is incredibly central.

Damai Golf & Country Club, Sarawak, Malaysia
Damai Golf & Country Club is Malaysia’s first Arnold Palmer-designed golf course and an international standard championship course. The course itself is immaculate and challenging, but it’s perhaps the scenery that’s the most impressive. The 18-hole par-72 course has a Mountain Nine, which borders the foothills of Mount Santubong, as well as an Ocean Nine, which hugs the coastline of the South China Sea with beautiful beaches, rocky outcrops, and mangrove-lined streams.
Getting there: Fly by private charter to Kuching International Airport, which is a 50-minute drive from Damai Golf & Country Club.

Blue Canyon Country Club, Phuket, Thailand
Although Bangkok golf courses tend to get most of the attention in Thailand, the clubs elsewhere in the country – such as in Phuket – are often a better bet. Blue Canyon Country Club is one of the best Phuket golf courses. Continually ranked as one of the top seaside golf resorts in the region, it has picturesque views of the opalescent Andaman Sea from many of the holes.
Built in 1991 by world-famous golf architect Yoshikazu Kato, it’s remained one of the most popular golf clubs in Southeast Asia since it opened. There are two courses for golfers to enjoy, with the Canyon Course being the more renowned of the two. This par-72, 7,244-yard course is the only course to have hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic three times in the tournament’s history, in 1994, 1998, and 2007. It’s also hosted the Honda Invitational, the BMW International World Final, The Thailand Open, and the Blue Canyon Tiger Skins & Thai Airways International Thailand Open. It’s the ultimate experience for many golfers.
The Blue Canyon resort is also worthy of mention, as its 31 rooms located above the Club House are simply sublime.
Getting there: Fly by private charter to Phuket International Airport, which is just a 10-minute drive away.

The Empire Brunei, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the par-71, 7,029-yard championship course has beautifully lush fairways lined with tropical rainforest, while the South China Sea adds even more picturesque views for players to enjoy. Night golf is also offered here, ideal for those looking to escape the tropical heat.
The 522-room country club is lavishly decorated and offers a wonderful way to end the day on one of the region’s top courses.
Getting there: Fly by private charter to Brunei International Airport, which is a 16-minute drive from the course.

Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club, Thừa Thiên Huế, Vietnam
Laguna Lăng Cô is a 280-hectare integrated resort that is home to Banyan Tree and Angsana Resorts and the renowned Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club and course. Designed by Sir Nick Faldo, the 18-hole, par-71 course is just under 7,100 yards and offers some of the finest views in Vietnam.
Located on the coastline in central Vietnam, between Hoi An and Hué, it’s flanked on one side by the South China Sea and lush, tropical mountains on the other. While the course is bold and has strong visual features, Faldo designed it in such a way that it integrated and enhanced the area’s natural terrain rather than shaping it.
Getting there: Fly by private charter to Danang International Airport, which is about an hour’s drive away.

Camp John Hay, Baguio, Philippines
Golfers looking to play on a course with a cooler climate than many in the region should consider visiting Camp John Hay in the Philippines. Jack Nicklaus transformed the former US military base into this famous course. Located 1,700m above sea level, it’s quite a few degrees cooler than most courses in Southeast Asia.
Players can enjoy the crisp mountain air while they carefully manoeuvre the undulating, hilly terrain of the par-69 course. Flanked by stunning mountain views and majestic pine trees, the 5,517-yard course is challenging but hugely enjoyable. It’s the only bentgrass green in the country, which makes for quite a bit of putting pace.
The clubhouse was designed to look like a traditional log cabin and offers a spectacular venue for enjoying food and drinks with stunning views of the course.
Getting there: Baguio Airport is the nearest airport to Camp John Hay. You can fly there by private charter and drive to the course in under 10 minutes.
