We were tasked with transporting 23 tonnes of essential supplies to the island in the wake of the natural disaster.

Delivering aid to Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa

A charity in Florida asked us to help deliver 23 tonnes of relief aid to hurricane-struck Jamaica, including tarps, relief kits, water bottles, hygiene products, clothing and food. With commercial flights grounded and airports over capacity, our expertise was needed to ensure the essential supplies got there fast.

Our Solution

Routes: Miami > Port Royal, Jamaica

Aircraft: Airbus A321F

Having anticipated high demand for aircraft charters before the hurricane made landfall, we’d already reached out to local operators regarding aircraft availability. This meant we could provide a quote as soon as the client’s call came in, despite it being a Friday afternoon.

We sourced a freighter for the heavy cargo, applying for permits later that day and receiving them first thing on Monday. Our team collected the cargo and delivered it to the airport in Miami, where it was packed onto pallets and loaded onto the aircraft for a prompt departure.

The Finer Details

Available 24/7: We worked over the weekend to pull off this urgent charter, liaising with the operator and civil aviation authority to ensure everything was arranged.
